Canadian Osteoarthritis Research Program (CORP)

The Canadian Osteoarthritis Research Program (CORP) is comprised of a team of individuals with common interests and expertise in musculoskeletal conditions, joint replacement surgery, aging, pain, fatigue/sleep and mental health.

Our goal is to reduce the impact of osteoarthritis (OA) in people living with this condition by increasing our understanding of:

  1. Predictors of disability in OA
  2. Patient and provider characteristics that determine optimal care, including use of total joint replacement (TJR) surgery
  3. Economic consequences of OA to the person, caregivers, and the health care system, including wait times
  4. Determinants, consequences and time course of pain in OA, with a focus on inter-relationships among pain, fatigue and mental health
